1. Environmentally friendly and economical LED lamps.
LEDs successfully replace street lights in parks, residential areas, and secondary roads. LED street lights equipped with secondary optics increase the useful light output of the lamps by directing the light beam to the illuminated section of the road. With the help of a specially designed lens, they will provide directional light, which, unlike conventional lamps, will illuminate only the street, and not the surrounding area or the night sky. The use of secondary optics allows you to reduce or completely eliminate the blinding effect, due to which they can be quickly used to illuminate roads and highways. And one more pleasant "side effect": LEDs do not attract mosquitoes and flies, because their light is devoid of ultraviolet and infrared radiation spectra.
Many types of lamps are still used for street lighting – mainly mercury or sodium vapor lamps. Experts believe that mercury lamps will be the first to be replaced, as the European Union has come out against them following an initiative by environmentalists. In Germany, for example, almost one third of the 10 million street lamps are of this type.
2.Advantages of LED street lighting.
LED lamps have a number of undeniable advantages over conventional street lamps. They are much more economical, last ten times longer – 100,000 hours, and in addition, their use will reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. It is estimated that at the current rate of replacement of street lamps (about 3% per year) with LED lamps in Germany alone, a total of 380,000 tons of carbon dioxide will be prevented from being emitted into the atmosphere by 2015. The main disadvantage of the new LED lamps is that their production is still very expensive, but their price is significantly decreasing every year and already in 2010 it reached a completely acceptable price level, and given the high efficiency and service life, it became completely justified and competitive.
In the photo you can see the difference in lighting of the same object, in the first case the object is illuminated by a street lamp with a DRL-250 lamp with an uncompensated ballast and a power consumption of 380 W (lamps with DRL-250 lamps with a compensated ballast can consume slightly less electricity and their power consumption can be within 300 W), in the second case an LED street lamp with 120 degree lenses based on 3 LED matrices with a total luminous flux of 3300 lm) and a power consumption of 35 W is used. The difference in lighting quality is obvious! At the same time, electricity costs are reduced by 8-10 times and lamp replacement and maintenance costs are reduced by 50 times. In addition, mercury lamps significantly lose brightness over time and have huge light losses associated with low-quality reflectors, as well as their dimming and clogging during operation. In other words, LED street lights have a number of advantages over mercury ones, both in brightness and color rendering quality, and in economic terms.

2011 brought significant adjustments with the appearance in the model range of the LED manufacturer Cree of super-powerful LED matrices XLamp CXA2011 with a nominal power of 10 W and a light output of 1100-2200 lm from one LED. The use of these LEDs and budget housings allowed to minimize the energy consumption of a flashlight with similar light output from 50 to 30 W, and also to reduce the consumer cost.
The graph below shows the payback and total cost of using various products. Considering the fact that almost all competitive flashlights on the market are analogs of our KH-SL30 model (most competitive offers are more expensive, and therefore the payback curve is shifted to the right), the graph can also provide information on the competitiveness of the new KH-SL30/3 flashlight (Fig. 2).
LED street lamp KH-SL30 /3, KH-SL60/3 - are based on LED matrices, equipped with secondary optics. Manufactured in an aluminum alloy case with a powerful passive cooling system. Allow to significantly reduce the cost of products, provide high light output and payback of the product during the first year of operation.

In 2012, the company "HORS" began testing LED street lamps equipped with a twilight sensor and a motion sensor. In 2013, these lamps successfully passed the tests and were launched into series production. The use of a twilight sensor allows you to turn on the lamp at dusk, and the use of a motion sensor allows, in the absence of moving objects within the area illuminated by the lamp, to work only at 30% of its resource, while providing emergency lighting of the territory quite comfortable for observers located outside the illuminated area while providing the necessary brightness at the observer's location. Such lighting systems are advisable to use when illuminating streets and roads with a small flow of people and vehicles, as well as in other areas where at night there is a significant decrease in the flow of pedestrians and vehicles. LED lamps equipped with a twilight sensor are advisable to use in the case of installing single lamps.
If you need to create street or site lighting using several lanterns, it is advisable to install one twilight sensor separately for the entire line. This is explained by the impossibility of setting all sensors to the same sensitivity and, therefore, in the case of using several lanterns equipped with light sensors, they will turn on at different times. Also, the cost of the equipment in this case will be unreasonably high.
